When you put a new thread up in the Workshop please put your car's year & model in the post subject/thread title, along with just a brief indicator of the problem.

Year - Car Model - Brief description of issue. FOR EXAMPLE- ''1999 9-3 - Problems starting when hot.''

For Tech II issues or help requests please state the following in your thread title ''Tech 2 help required - state issue and your location ''.

Please also add as much information as you can about the problem, to your post.

This will help us to help you, without having to ask basic details such as what car you have.

Nb. Generic thread titles for truly generic issues that genuinely are not model or variant specific (such as "how do I change the spring in an forge wastegate actuator") are acceptable

Saab 93 Model 2007 Sport.

Hi
My windscreen washer pump has stopped working.
Thought at first it had just run out of water as it seemed that the pressure just dropped whilst squirting on to the screen.
Checked the fuse no 15 ( headlights still work)and its ok.
Confused at the various part numbers as one person has told me part number 12826943 is the correct part and another person has told me 12782867(which has superceeded 12802440).
Has anyone any idea which part number is correct before I go and buy one.

Thanks Chris.

What makes you think the pump is knackered? Does it make a noise when you try to get it going? Maybe a dodgy connection as well.
In my own case I pulled the hose off at the closest point I could get to the pump and pressed the button to see if any water came out, luckily for me everytime it has, it's just been a worn out valve in the hose line.

Or gunged up, or pipes gunged up.
My GF's focus washers wouldn't work and ford wanted to charge £100+ to replace it. Bog off, I cleared the pipes myself, it's still working.

Part 4? If so then your second query is right....

Sorry to drag this out again.

I have a '06 9-3 Aero and the windscreen washer has not worked well for the past few weeks (jets getting weaker). Yesterday it stopped altogether and so has the washer for the headlights. Wipers work fine at all speeds. Washer bottle is full. I checked fuses 15 and 22 which are fine. I checked relay R1 (windscreen washer pump) by swapping it with R9 (same rating, used for the windscreen wipers) and no change, so assume R1 is working ok. I cannot hear the pumps wirring so I suspect they may have both gone. Is there anything else I can check before I remove them? I am also wondering if I should buy 2 pumps (same part #12826943) or just the one, in case there is just one bad pump shorting the other good one?

For others in the same boat, I came across this PDF which explains how to replace the washer pump: http://www.2shared.com/document/j0bov2cL/Washer_Pump_Replacement.html

Any help is gratefully received.

Many thanks

Hi There

I bought a replacement pump ( From Saab) they were cheaper than E-Bay and that has fixed my problem.

Thanks Chris. Was that from a particular Saab dealer? Did you replace both pumps or just the one for the windscreen?

Turns out it was the screen washer pump (Saab part 12826943). Found it for £16.99 from lookersvauxhallsaab on ebay, who sent it the next day.
